Man with “extensive burns” in Sabugal fire

A man who was seriously injured in the fire in Sabugal on Tuesday has “extensive burns” and is being assessed in the emergency department at Hospital de São João in Porto.
Speaking to Lusa, a source from the Hospital de São João, in Porto, stated that the victim, last night, had “an extensive burn” and is being evaluated and stabilized in the ER (emergency service).
The man, a 45-year-old operative for Afocelca (a forest protection company owned by the cellulose groups Altri and Navigator), was seriously injured during operations to combat the fire raging in the municipality of Sabugal, the National Emergency and Civil Protection Authority (ANEPC) had said.
